I actually did these photos back in March but was so busy at the time that I forgot to write a little piece about it.
The brief was pretty simple... use some examples of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and other Wales first team players to replicate a similar batch for the Under 21 players. It was my first time using my Canon 1DX MkII along with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens that I had recently bought so was a good, quick learning curve on using that.
The setup was a nice easy one - a white backdrop, a couple of continuous lights to blow out the backdrop and a couple of other flashguns to light the players effectively.
The results were great and I was really pleased with them. I edited a batch of the images quickly so that they could be used in the friendly fixture against the Republic of Ireland the following day on the social media posts throughout the day and it was great to see them looking on-brand with the rest of the FAW content.

FAW were obviously happy with them as they want me to now do the same for the Women's U19 and U17 teams in May!
